The holiday seasons can be a tough time for some, especially those missing their loved ones that have departed this life. Reminiscing about the good and the bad times, your eyes swell with tears wishing they were still here. Your face breaks into a smile as you remember how much they loved you and you loved them.
Certain holidays used to be rough for me after I lost my parents. Losing my parents was a very difficult time for me. I never imagine my life without them. Even though I had other family members and friends that loved me I still felt a void and alone in this world.
Not until losing my brother a year ago, I was finally able to accept that we are not to be on this earth forever. I look at death in a total different way. We are on this earth for an appointed time. We know neither the time nor day when that appointed time will end.
We can freely pick our friends and choose who we desire to share our lives with; our families are not our choice. Love your family and your friends unconditionally and enjoy every moment you have to spend with them. The next minute is not promised to us.
When we lose those that we love, we must continue to live and move on with our lives. We need not question why they are no longer with us; just cherish the time they were with us.
While trying to get over the sorrow that your loved ones may not be here to share this holiday season with you “keep them in your heart and they will never leave your side.”
