I received a Best Buy gift card from my employer last week, and with it, I decided to purchase Monopoly Streets for Playstation 3. This is my review of the game.
When I first put the game in, I did not know what to expect. I knew it could be great, or it could be terrible. Thankfully, it was great!
There are several different Monopoly boards in the game. Most of them are locked except for the classic Monopoly board, and the Monopoly City board, which is awesome! The Monopoly city board is all 3d buildings. The characters go around the board and stop at the buildings. You can either purchase, or have a bank auction.
The graphics are awesome in this game. It’s like you’re in an animated universe, actually playing the game yourself. The characters are good, but it would be nice to have a few more to choose from.
One of the downfalls of the game is the online play. While it’s great to go online and play against other people, it’s nearly impossible to find a match. I tend to click on “quick match.” Unfortunately, quick match isn’t so quick. It takes at least 10-15 minutes just to get a match.
There are 4 different sets of rules you can choose from on Monopoly Streets. I just play the official monopoly rules, and haven’t explored the other sets of rules, so I can’t really write about them.
Another good thing about this game is the price. Only $39.99, compared to the normal new release price of ps3 games which is typically right around $60.
All in all, it’s a great game, and a lot of fun to play. I highly recommend purchasing this game if you’re a monopoly fan. I enjoy the fact that if I want to play monopoly, I no longer have to find someone to play with, I just turn on the Playstation!
Hope this was insightful, thanks for reading.
