We set in a wooded area, her eyes are wide with wonder and she shivers in anticipation of what is to come. Dressed in flowing robes they approach an altar and she sits Indian style looking up at the Moon. The Crone standing before the maiden and lifts her arms out to the Moon and calls to the Goddess. Through her desire the Maiden assists in forming a Cone of Power; she chants and then dances before the Crone in the Magic Circle that has been cast.
An Athame is drawn from a bag, the Maiden gasps. The Crone points the Athame and directs energy; North, South, East, West. A single candle is lit then incense with the aroma of lavender. Lastly, Salt and Water are sprinkled about.
Tiny, mystical creatures come out of the woods drawn by the energy of the Full Moon. The Crone calls out to the Mother Goddess and all the forms that she takes; Venus, Artemis, Brigit, & Aphrodite. Mother Wolf howls in the distance paying homage to all things sacred. The Maiden longs to receive and feel the power of the Goddess. In unicense, the Goddess and the Crone chant a mournful hymn to the Earth, Water, Fire and Air.
Pulling her arms down in a sphere, the Crone now holds a glowing ball of energy. This is all things, all life and everything that is laid out before her. The Crone turns slowly and hands the ball to the Maiden, explaining the importance of what is held before her now.
The Maiden is heavy with the burdens of all things but excited in anticipation of the wonders that her future holds.
As the Maiden gazes into the ball of energy, she see’s the characteristics of Goddess unfold before her. Venus ~ Goddess of Beauty and Grace, Athena ~ Warrior Goddess, Artemis ~ Goddess of the Hunt, Brigit ~ Goddess of Creativity and Wisdom, Aphrodite ~ Goddess of Love and all of her sisters that had gone before her. The Maiden weeps as she watched the persecution of The Burning Times. She sees her future laid out before her.
The Crone takes the ball of energy and returns it to the Earth, she places both hands firmly on the soil and grounds herself. The Maiden does the same, noticing the coolness beneath her palms.
An offering is left; a fruit pit is planted, a hand full of bird seed, and a short prayer of thanksgiving. Maiden and Crone leave the wooded area ………….. forever changed.
