When planning a baby shower, you may have learned about a few baby shower games to play and entertain your guests. Playing baby shower games can be a lot of fun and give everyone the chance to be a child again. In addition, the games can be great ice breakers for any guests who are unfamiliar with each other. It can lighten the mood and allow the guests to mingle with each other. Of course, it gives everyone a fun way to honor the expecting mommy and her little bundle of joy that is on his or her way! If you are looking to play more than a few games, or if you would simply like more choices to choose from, then here are more baby shower games you can consider playing.
Baby Truth or Dare.
“Baby Truth or Dare” is kind of like a trivia game. What you will do is write down a few baby trivia facts. Make sure some are correct and others are incorrect. During the baby shower, read out a fact and ask if it is true or false. The guests who guess correctly can get a small prize. The guests who guess incorrectly will be dared to perform in front on everyone else. They can perform silly tasks, such as singing a baby song, acting like a baby, or doing a funny dance.
Dig Out The Pins.
During the game of “Dig Out The Pins”, a large bowl will be filled with uncooked rice and diaper pins. Then let the guests try to fish out as many of the diaper pins as they can with a two minute time limit. The guest who has the most number of pins will win the game.
Don’t Say Baby.
One of the most popular -and challenging- baby shower games is the game of “Don’t Sat Baby”. The game is just what the title says, you don’t say the word “baby” at all during the baby shower! Everyone is given a sticker, diaper pins, or something similar when they arrive to the baby shower. If someone says the word “baby” and is caught, then they will lose their sticker or pin. If anyone catches another person saying the word “baby”, then they will be the one who gets the sticker or pin from the person who said it. The person with the most amount of stickers or pins at the end of the shower will win.
Here’s Looking at You, Kid!
Taking a stroll down memory lane can be a lot of fun, especially with baby pictures! To play “Here’s Looking at You, Kid!”, make a request that all of the guests bring a baby picture of themselves. When the guests arrive, secure and assign each photo a number. When it is time to play the game, lay out all of the baby pictures and give each guest a piece of paper. Then ask them to identify as many baby pictures as they can. This will be done by guessing who is in each picture. The guest who has the most pictures correct is the winner of the game.
Measuring Up Mommy.
In the game of “Measuring Up Mommy”, guests will guess the size of the mother’s stomach by cutting the toilet paper to the estimated size. Each guest will then take a turn wrapping their cut toilet paper around the mother’s stomach. The guest with the toilet paper that is the closest to the size of the mother’s stomach wins the game.
Sing It, Baby!
During the game of “Sing It, Baby!”, the guests will sit or stand in a circle. Each guest will then sing one or two lines from a song that has the word “baby” in it. One guest will start it off, and then the guest seated to their right has ten seconds to sing another song that has the word “baby” in it. The songs may not be repeated. So if the guest cannot think of a song, or repeats a song, then they are out of the game. The last one remaining in the circle wins the game.
The Seventh Gift.
This game is similar to the wedding tradition of catching the bride’s wedding bouquet. When you catch the bride’s bouquet, you are said to be the next one to get married. So in “The Seventh Gift”, the person who gives the seventh baby shower will be the next expecting mother. However, nobody likes a cheater, so do not “plant” your gift as the seventh to be opened.
This list will give you more baby shower games to choose from, rather than just a few. You can play all of them or just two or three. You can even decide on which one games you would like to give out prizes for. These games will help to break the ice and have fun, so the more baby shower games you plan, the more fun you, the guests, and of course the mother-to-be can have!
