The music from the 1920’s to the 1950’s was a reflection of the times to what was happening in the world. Every song or musical piece created or recorded during that time has since become a part of a bigger collection. The journey of music over time tells a story that is still being created and told.
Likewise, the musicians are the storytellers and their music connects us to things we have not lived yet we experience through the common themes. These themes unite us whether the music is rap, metal, rock, disco, jazz, ragtime, or other. Who are these artists?
The following list is a beginning compilation of the prominent artists of the decades. The list gets progressively longer with each decade. Some names will be missed but this is just the beginning of the journey to learn and explore the fascinating world of music over time. Feel free to leave comments on any artists that you would like on the list.
