When you live in Music City (Nashville, Tennessee) it is hard to decide what shows to catch. There are tons of talented singer/songwriters. Some are indie artists looking for a shot, some are local celebrities and some are major stars. There are lots of cool venues, must see shows, and underground best kept secrets. Whether you like hip hop, R&B, rock and even roots you can find your fix any night of the week. Here are some Must See November Performances in Nashville.
-The Wooten Brothers @ 3rd and Lindsley every Wednesday night @ 9:30PM
This is a legendary weekly event. This is an entertaining night of funk, rock, and R&B. This band of brothers that hail from Virginia have made their mark on the Nashville music scene. This is not your typical night out in Nashville but instead an eclectic mix of soul and sass. You will want to get up out of your seats and dance to the music. The band is made up of 6 musicians including my favorite a sax player. These are sensational musicians who play with energy and spunk.
-Alexis Jordan performing @ Play Dance Bar Friday November 12
This talented young performer will be appearing at Play Dance Bar. She will be performing her hit single entitled “Happiness”. “Happiness” is an upbeat dance tune that will put a smile in your heart and some pep in your step. This Roc/Roc Nation artist has a bright personality really sings from the heart. This culturally blended artist hails from Columbia, South Carolina and has been singing and performing since the age of 11. This is a performance you won’t want to miss. Her positive message and energy will make this a special night. Don’t miss it!
-John Butler Trio @ the Ryman Auditorium
This trio from Australia is an eclectic roots/jam band. Their deep messages and relevant lyrics will expand your mind. This band has a ton of eclectic influences. You can clearly tell who their influences are by listening to their music. Influences include Bob Marley, De La Soul, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, and Tracy Chapman. The bands worth buying albums include Live at St. Gallen, Sunrise Over Sea, and Three. This is a must see show that will make you feel various emotions and crawl into the depths of your soul. The Ryman is one of my favorite venues in Nashville. The sound is impeccable and any seat in the house is a perfect spot.
