Each year around Thanksgiving time, Oprah surprises her audience with a show centered around her favorite things. Oprah’s Favorite Things many times are well known products, but just as often she’ll highlight an item new to the market, and boom, it’s an instant success! I love Oprah’s Favorite Things. I think it’s one of her best shows of every season. And this being Oprah’s last season, she went out with a bang. With gift items ranging from a large Sony HDTV to a 7-day cruise aboard the Royal Caribbean Allure of the Seas, Oprah’s Favorite Things 2010 did not disappoint. Of the many things presented on the show, spotlighted here are five of my favorite things.
My 5 Picks of Oprah’s Favorite Things 2010:
Kiva Gift Card, Courtesy of Groupon
If you’re not familiar with Groupon, this is an amazing site that offers city-specific deals to those who register for free. Kiva.org is a site featured on Groupon that helps people searching for loans to start small business anywhere in the world. Donations can be as little as $25. And during this holiday promotion on Oprah’s Favorite Things 2010, Groupon and Kiva will match Oprah’s viewers donations up to $500,000. Give a gift that inspires people.
Baker’s Edge Baking Pans
I’ve seen these pans recently and it is on my to give as well as to buy for myself list. If you’re like me (and apparently Oprah) and you love the edges of a freshly baked pan of brownies, then this is a must for you. Baker’s Edge Baking Pans provides a double edge on every piece served. Great for those baked pasta dishes as well.
Lululemon Relaxed Fit Pants
Lululemon is a Canadian company that produces yoga, dance and athletic wear sold all over the world. The Lululemon Relaxed Fit Pants featured on Oprah’s Favorite Things 2010 are made from Lululemon’s Luon fabric that provides a four-way stretch and flat seams making for a cleaner line and a more comfortable fit. These Relaxed Fit Pants will probably be the most flattering athletic wear pants you’ve ever worn. These pants retail for $98 and can be found at any Lululemon store or their online website.
Royal Caribbean Allure of the Seas Cruise
I love cruising and what better gift to receive than a 7-day adventure on the world’s largest cruise ship, the Royal Caribbean Allure of the Seas. Most massive cruise ships will feature stunning decor, oodles of entertainment and fabulous food, but Royal Caribbean is raising the bar. Allure of the Seas features the DreamWorks Experience, the first cruise line to provide a 3D theater to cruisers. Additional features include: a zip-line, rock climbing, full-sized carousel, a beautiful public garden, and an amphitheater to name a few. This 16-deck ship will have seasoned cruisers as well as beginners clamoring to book their next Caribbean vacation.
A Course in Weight Loss by Marianne Williamson
This is the first I’ve heard of this amazing book by New York Times best-selling author Marianne Williamson. A Course in Weight Loss: 21 Spiritual Lessons for Surrendering Your Weight Forever focuses on a spiritual and holistic approach to weigh loss. Williamson will take you step-by-step on a journey to balance your mind, body, and spirit so that weight loss occurs while giving you a healthy attitude towards food that will bring enjoyment into your life. A definite read for those who have struggled with yo-yo dieting for years. The book retails for $24.95 and can be found on Amazon or any Barnes and Noble bookstore.
