I love all that glitters: tinsel, chandelier earrings, silver eye shadow, and yes, of course, gold. I especially love the metallic hues popping up in eye shadows this season. I also love the return of the nineties punk edginess, mixed in with a big dose of modern day glamour, and a touch of eighties fashion. Sure, it’s a lot of retro-ness, but swirl it together and you’ve got a look that is right now. Here’s what’ on my Christmas beauty wish list this year. (Hint, hint,Santa, are you reading this? After all, I haven’t been all that naughty….)
Shoes. Yes, I love shoes. And I love the retro purple Converse All Stars at Target for just $29.99. They are cute as all get out, comfy, and an awesome color. But what I really am dying for is a pair of black, over the knee boots. Zappos has some fake leather Not Rated boots for around seventy dollars . I’m not too keen on the fake leather part, but I LOVE the look and you just can’t beat that price. Hmmmm, I wonder if they’re comfy?
If you’re going to wear over the knee boots, you have to have a great pair of skinny jeans or leggings. And nothing says winter like black velvet. I even found a highly affordable pair at one of my fav shopping spots – yup, Target, again. Just around nine dollars for Xhilaration Juniors Velvet Leggings. Warm and comfy! And I can even wear them to work.
I have to have a top to go with my boots and leggings, don’t you think? Well, I found another steal, this time at New York and Company. An asymmetricial, ruffled blouse in pearl will dress up my boots and leggings, and right now it’s under twenty bucks! This truly makes for a great – and cost effective – Christmas outfit.
Some simple, sterling silver hoop earrings from www.piercingpago.com will finish up this outfit with ease. So would just about any pair of sparkly, silver or black chandelier earrings. (Santa, are you paying attention?)
Santa, I still need some makeup for my Christmas stocking. I don’t think that the Sephora Blockbluster will fit in my stocking, but the Tattoo Chronicles Palette by Kat Von D. Just might for fiftyfive dollars at Sephora.com. But really, I would be happy with a little purple eyeliner or even a gift card.
See, Santa, I was pretty nice this year. And my wish list is pretty short and simple. Look how much money I saved you this year! Don’t you think that entitles me to a handbag, too?
