These are my favorite Crooners, when I hear their music it takes me back to the Golden Age. Please listen to this songs too, I’ve added them to share.
“The Chairman,” is my personal favorite singer, his peak of popularity actually ranges in three decades, 40s, 50, and 60s, and really he’s still popular, but those were three decades that marked his career. My favorite Christmas song from him was, “White Christmas.” Very touching and beautiful song.
His song “Baby it’s Cold Outside,” is his best Christmas song. Dean Martin was very popular in the same years as Sinatra, they both shared stardom. He had a good acting career and he was member of the notorious Rat Pack.
Perry Como had a longer career that started in the early 40s. His Christmas song that I enjoyed is “Santa is coming To Town.” A song that takes me back to my childhood.
Another singer and actor, like Sinatra he had a long peak of popularity I would say that spanned 20 years, from 1934-1954. Bing has a voice, and when you hear him sing it’s a treat. A Christmas favorite of mine is “Silent Night.”
Till this day Tony Bennett is a superstar, but his real peak of stardom was in the 1950s and he has since then rekindled his singing career. His Christmas song that was lovely was “The Christmas Song.”
A man known for doing a lot of Christmas songs, but a favorite of mine is, “Christmas is a feeling in your Heart”. Andy Williams’s career started in the late 30s, and he’s still active.
Known for the Godfather (mainly why I added him and his music is good), a man with that traditional Italian singing voice. His career started in 1948; he had a lot of hits. A good Christmas song from him is “O Holy Night”
Harry Connick Jr.
The new age crooner who keeps that old appeal a live. His major peak was in the 80s and 90s. And. A Christmas song that I enjoy from him is “When My Heart Finds Christmas.”
Damone was majorly famous in the 1940s-1960s. The Christmas song that he sings that is phenomenal is “Christmas in San Francisco” It’s very delightful.
Sadly Bobby Darin was 37 when he died, his career last in the late 1950s till his death in 1973. A Christmas song that is amazing is “Christmas Auld Lang Syne”
So this Christmas I hope everyone has a great one and listens to some music that brings back those Christmas Memories..
