My PC is infected with a virus. How do I remove this? There are a number of things that you can do to remove a virus from your PC. Most people think the best way is to simply get an anti-virus program such as Norton Antivirus or MacAfee. However, those are simply the more expensive ways to get a virus off of your PC. On top of that, they may not be able to remove the virus from your PC in some situations. That means you will have wasted money while your PC is still infected with a virus. So how do you get a virus off of your computer without spending any money?
Well, you will have to do a few things to your computer to get this done. The first thing that you will want to do is to run the “msconfig” program from your start menu or your task manager. You can simply type it in the start menu and press enter. On that menu, you will need to go to the tab that says “startup.” You need to disable all of the programs on that list. If you have a virus on your computer then there is a 95% that the viruses will be listed in your startup programs.
If your PC is infected with a virus after that then you need to check the services on your computer. You can get to the services by typing “services” in the start menu or finding the button for services on the task manager tabs. This is a little different. You will have to search for any service that seems out of place. For example, if you see a service that has random letters or numbers then it is most likely a virus. You can also look for well known viruses such as “Relevant Knowledge.”
If your PC is infected with a virus even after this then the best route to take is to simply reinstall your operating system. This is because your system files have been compromised. The best way to restore system files is through a new Windows 7 installation.
