My husband has had an iPhone for two years, and he has downloaded some remarkable apps for it. We can now use it to get “unlost,” I can send him a grocery list via e-mail and he can look it up on the phone, and there a large variety of other apps as well.
There are some apps we’d like to have, and thus far we’ve not been able to find them. One relates to sending him to buy groceries. There are two things I’d like in this department. One is an interactive list of what I’ve got on hand. It’d be a lot of work to keep up with it, but it would mean that I don’t end up with six cans of hot dog chili because I couldn’t remember if we needed it.
The second I’d like to see is a “where is it in this store” app. Most stores are laid out in a similar pattern. It would not be all that difficult to make an app that shows where most major chains use layout wise so that each item can be found. That way, he wouldn’t have to call and have me tell him that the liquid smoke is halfway down X aisle and on the second from the top shelf, right about eye level.
When we’re traveling, there are two apps I have to switch back and forth between. One of them tells me the route to take and other tells me if there are traffic problems ahead. I’d *really* like to have them both in one app. Hey, and maybe add Trapster to it…
Interactions between medications and herbal supplements is a big issue for me. I’m a Master Herbalist, and I know what kind of problems can be caused when you mix some medications with herbal supplements. It’d be nice to have an interchangeable app that would allow you to type in either the medication or the supplement to see if there is a problem. I think that app would save lives.
You may have heard of ICE. It’s something people put into their cell phones and it stands for “in case of emergency.” I think there ought to be an app for that. It is not guaranteed that your contact is going to be available to answer that call. I’d have up to six slots, and mention the relationship of those listed. At least one ICE name should be out of state, as a natural disaster could effect everyone on your list if they are all close by.
So, app makers, could you see what you can do with these suggestions?
