Movies are a big part of society as a lucrative billion dollar industry .From Avatar to the hangover we as a culture can’t live without them. For a majority of my young life nothing has inspired me more than being a movie star. Though my acting experience isn’t from New york film academy. Those years in my high school doing musicals has paid off. My lifelong passion for movies brought me to work as a background actor in blood river productions forthcoming movie Vamperifica. A horror comedy that is slated for a 2011 summer release. I first found out about this from a open casting call on myspace.
My time on the set was filled with anguish and success. For my role as an audience member I wore a casual outfit . It started with me going to Poly prep academy a upscale private school in Bay Ridge,Brooklyn. There I signed in and waited at least 2 hours before the actual filming started. During this time I networked with my fellow background actors. In I was surprised to see fellow content writers and bloggers who have also been bit by the acting bug .When it was time to shoot we were taken to a auditorium where we had to perform. And by perform I mean act as a active audience.
It was a good experience all in all since most of the cast was in the room. Bruce Ornstein the director was very charismatic and his insight into the world of acting will never leave me. Most importantly the star of the movie Martin Yurkovic showed me you can both act and write the movie you’re in.For those who want to become a background actor just check for your local casting agency or craigslist. However understand that acting requires practice which involves determination. If you don’t give it 110% stop now as there are thousands of people more deserving than you.
