During the winter season many families keep the windows blocked up, and the doors as well. There is usually not any outside air circulation. In some instances your home can end up smelling stale, and not fresh. The One thing you don’t want to use in your home is chemicals that claim to freshen up your home. Instead why not focus on finding some natural ways that you can keep your home smelling fresh, and clean. Below you will find several ideas that may prove to be helpful.
Natural lemon scent
There is nothing like having the fresh natural lemon scent in your home. What you need are at least three fresh lemons. Use a cheese grater to scrub off the zest from the skin into a plastic spray bottle. You will then want to add about two cups of water into your spray bottle. After zesting the lemon cut it in half, and then place the halves into the bottle. Shake it well, and then spray it over carpeting, before you vacuum, or use it to dust up the rooms in your home. You will end up with a very nice fresh scent in your home.
Nothing like a fruit basket
A fruit basket as a center piece can leave the home smelling fresh and clean. With the fresh fruit I would recommend that you only leave it out for no more than a week. The fruit bowl is really perfect for when you have company come over. You can use a nice clear glass bowl, and place some fresh lemons, oranges, and apples into the bowl. To really bring out the fresh scent you can zest the lemon and the orange. Not only will it help to add a little color to the table but it will help to freshen up the home as well.
Flowers are really the best choice when it comes to decorating our home, and freshening up the scent a bit. I would first recommend going to the store, and smelling different flowers to see which ones really stand out, and which ones you would like best. The one thing you will want to make sure of is that you do not have flowers where the smell is overpowering. In some cases when you combine different scents it can be a little bit too much. All you really need are about one or two nice smelling plants per room.
