If you haven’t been to the Newport Aquarium in a while here is a fun excuse to visit, enjoy and do your part for the environment.
The Newport Aquarium will be hosting the 5th annual Nauti Nite on Friday October 8 at 7:30am. This party will benefit the Aquarium’s Wave Foundation.
The party will involved touring the Aquarium enjoying exotic aquatic wildlife, dive shows, fine food,specialty cocktails, deserts, wine, music,art, and silent auditions. There will be after party at the riverside room, with music by DVS, dancing, music, and prizes.
The cost to attend the event $60.00 General Admission, $40.00 Young
Professional, and $150 Diamond VIP tickets(includes admission to a VIP Pre-party at 7:00pm).
The Wave foundation supports several conservation efforts.
The Sea Turtle project- In the United states six of the breeds of the world’s Sea Turtles exist these are Green, Hawksbill, Kemp Ridley, Leatherback, Loggerhead, and Olive Ridley. These Turtles are threatened with extinction, for a variety of reasons, including coastal development, nest predation, commercial trawling, long-line fishing, water and beach pollution. The conservation of the Wave Foundation aids efforts along the North Carolina coast to protect these beautiful creatures through satellite tagging research effects.
Amazon Rainforest project- Efforts to protect the rainforests from destructive logging of the rainforests by promoting the ornamental fishing industry as as a alternative commercial trade for villages to make there livelihood.
Ohio Riverbank projects-Riverbank Learning Garden teaching programs that are hands on to save native plants, and trees in this Ohio Riverfront area. River sweep programs to promote water quality awareness and cleanup efforts.
