The economy is finally starting to get better for the state of Michigan as we compete with other states and countries for companies to invest here. Search Optics, Inc. is a high-tech company which specializes in search engine optimization (SEO) and search engine marking (SEM) for the automotive industry and apparently they do it very well because they are ready to invest 4.1 million dollars to expand in Ferndale.
What does this mean for the city of Ferndale? Well, according to the article posted on Hometown Life.com it will create over 500 jobs and 288 will be directly within the company. It is also estimated that and extra 257 indirect jobs will be created. That means that at least an extra 545 people will be working in the city of Ferndale on a daily basis and they need to eat, shop, get gas and having a cocktail after work at the nearest local establishment is a possibility as well. That means the local businesses that have been struggling financially over the past few years may actually get a much needed and well deserved reprieve and businesses may flourish in the city of Ferndale once again.
Of course in the process the city of Ferndale will have to give up about $30,000 in taxes and the state of Michigan will have to give a huge tax credit over the next 7 years but if we can get Search Optics, Inc. to expand their business in this state it will give Ferndale businesses and residents the hope of a better future.
