Bands like Kings of Leon, Vampire Weekend, and Cage the Elephant are bringing back some old school rock vibes, and people are loving it. And why not? These bands are reaching back to their roots in a way that no other genre has done before. Rock music began with the wild pop sound you heard from The Beatles and The Who, and I couldn’t be happier. I love “classic” rock music, and as a concert fanatic, I have seen bands like The Who in concert, as well as Ozzy Osbourne, Motley Crue, and Black Label Society, to bands of today like Chiodos, Alkaline Trio, Underoath, and Coheed & Cambria. Name a band, I’ve probably seen them. When it comes to music, there is nothing better than a group of musicians who can jam on their instrument with ease. That is what I see from Kings of Leon. As an avid fan for the past four years, I saw the rise of Kings of Leon, and couldn’t be prouder. Although I was a little late on the Vampire Weekend train, I still jumped on. I love the creative drumming of Chris Tomson. His style reminds me of the wild drumming of, The Who’s, Keith Moon. With an entire group on a whole new technical level…again…Rock ‘n Roll may be on its way for a comeback tour. These young bands, like Cage the Elephant, have a long career ahead of them, and I am very excited to see what they’ve got.
