It’s coming up to that time of year again when we all start to think of what New Years Resolutions we should make. As a committed fashionista and an admitted shopaholic, my resolutions this year must be about shopping and fashion. I am determined to keep to these resolutions. (Well, at least until February!!!)
Number 1 – To buy one fabulous designer handbag, rather than hundreds of cheap bags. Every year I buy a million bags from New Look, Topshop, River Island etc etc, rather than buying the Mulberry that I have always wanted. It’s a false economy. A Mulberry would be an investment that I would cherish and use forever. The cheap bags I buy from the High Street get used a few times, and then join the piles that currently live under my bed. I have my trained eye on a leopard print Mulberry, and it will be mine!
Number 2 – To have a proper, ruthless, throw-out session with my wardrobe. My wardrobe is fit to bursting point, but still I refuse to throw away clothes I haven’t worn in years just in case they come back into fashion. THEY WON’T! So this is the year of the wardrobe declutter. Anything unworn in the past year has to go. Just think of the room I will make for new clothing. The thought of it makes me want to declutter right now!
Number 3 – To find the perfect pair of jeans and leggings. I am constantly wearing jeans that need a belt and leggings that make me look like Nora Batty due to wrinkled knees. I am going to start a crusade to find my perfect jeans and leggings – whatever the cost! Being frugal and being stylish isn’t always a perfect match, some things just cost more. But it’s worth the extra cost for the perfect fit.
There! All done! I think my resolutions are sensible and achievable. By the end of next year I should own a fabulous Mulberry, have a neat wardrobe and the perfect jeans. That really would be a perfect year!
