Carving a pumpkin is not only labor intensive, it can be downright frustrating for those of us that aren’t good with a knife. Instead of carving your pumpkin this year, use these pumpkin decorating ideas to make festive and fun themed pumpkins. No carving required! With a little imagination, you can come up with no carve pumpkin decorating ideas suitable for yourself and children of all ages.
No carve pumpkin decorating ideas:
Flower topped pumpkins – These no carve pumpkins can be displayed inside or outside the home. Place them on tables, line them along walkways, or use them as a beautiful centerpiece.
– Medium sized pumpkins
– Artificial flowers (fall colors)
– Hot glue gun
– Wire cutter
To make these no carve pumpkins, simply snip off the stems of the artificial flowers. Then, hot glue the flowers to the top of each pumpkin. Cover the entire top of the pumpkin completely, to give it a full look. This pumpkin decorating idea can be used on both orange and white pumpkins.

To make a vampire pumpkin, simply cut out black felt in the shape of eyes and eyebrows and glue in place. Cut a small slit out of the red felt to create the mouth, and two triangles from the white felt to make two vampire teeth. Glue in place. Cut out a few teardrop shapes from the red felt, to create dripping blood and glue them in place below the mouth. Complete this no carve pumpkin by draping it with enough black felt to form a cape.
Snowman pumpkin – A snowman pumpkin looks great in the yard, on the front porch or displayed as a centerpiece. The supplies you will need for this no carve pumpkin include:
– Medium round pumpkin
– White, orange, and black acrylic paints
– Straight pins
To make a snowman pumpkin, paint the entire pumpkin with white paint and allow to try completely. Use the black paint to paint the stem and the area below the stem.
