It seems like that drivers are more cautious near the commercial corridors of Noe Valley. When it comes to residential streets, on the other hand, drivers seem asleep at the wheel.
I was in the neighborhood this week making a transfer near 25th and Sanchez during the afternoon. It just so happened that I was walking down residential streets in order to give my service dog a break from the noise. Sure enough, right of way was never clearly established at the intersection. Once again, I was too close to a car moving through a crosswalk.
When I got to the other side of the block, a Noe Valley resident was laughing and shaking their head. They claimed that this happened around this block all the time. I was actually surprised to hear back and realized how scary it must be at night.
In other words, where is SF Street Calming when you need it? I feel it and this is an issue for the city because the drivers are so clearly confused. Also, what about nearby hills in the 25th and Sanchez area? In my opinion, this area needs more attention.
