At every turn President Obama lays blame for whatever issue he must confront as being some legacy of the Bush Administration. If he does not specifically mention “the previous administration” or his favorite “I inherited” then he uses more amorphous terminology about how he is going to do things that should have been done previous to his stewardship. It’s all about buck passing.
The total Iraq War cost, legacy costs undetermined, was $709 Billion dollars. That’s nothing to sneeze at for sure. But the stimulus was $861 Billion dollars. And his first deficit was $1.3 Trillion dollars for this year and next year’s budget forwards another deficit of $1.3 Trillion. Each budget deficit is nearly double the total cost for Operation Iraqi Freedom. Effectively Obama’s first two budgets total almost four times the Iraq War costs, so it seems totally fake, totally dishonest and politics extraordinaire to front that the nation’s current and continuing economic woes are the fault of anyone other than Barack Obama himself.
I am not trying to absolve Bush of his own over-spending ways, but truth is, if his budget initiatives were examined it would demonstrate a great deal of the spending for which the left attacked Bush was done at their behest and for their pet programs and desires.
The foregoing is the epitome of why negotiating and bipartisanship will not work when dealing with the current crop of progressive Congressional leadership. Doing as they request only opens one to finger pointing from them. No good dead goes unpunished, and all that. Why would one want to negotiate with an opponent when if you come to them and accommodate them in any way, when politically opportune, they will attack you for the money expended in accommodating their desires?
Yet that is exactly the factual situation since Bush became president. Teddy Kennedy wanted No Child Left Behind and Bush worked with him to make it happen and who gets the blame for it? Bush! And when Obama could not get Republican’s to sign on for Obamacare, what happened? He screamed Republican’s are obstructionist and paid lip service to it being important for health reform to be bipartisan. Republican’s did not bite, and how’s it turning out?
Remember Bill Clinton told Democrats that “I lost the House in 94 for not pushing through health reform,” yet now he caution’s Dems up for reelection to not mention their record – specifically voting for Obamacare, stimulus and the financial reform bill. Why? Because the Obama initiatives are exceedingly unpopular and were passed by a sycophant Congress Obama begged to pass his agenda so, as Dem pols put it, “The Obama presidency will not fail.” What a crock. His presidency began failing at 12:01 PM on January 20, 2009. Remember the swearing in recitation of the oath. Was I the only cringing person in the US?
Barack Obama’s presidency has been, is, and will continue to be a failed effort by a man uniquely unqualified to be president. He isn’t even a good community organizer for Heaven’s sake. Has there been any improvement in the communities he organized? Any whatsoever?
Add in the Gallup generic poll results that show Republican’s with a 10 full point lead over Democrats in the House and we see what Barack Obama has wrought – for his party, the presidency and an entire nation. He is as toxic as his presidency. Democrats caved to their caucus and voted to “not let the Obama presidency fail” and we see what drinking that Kool-Aid resulted in. Add in foreign press worldwide deriding every act of Obama and it’s easy to see that 52% who fell for “hope & change” were naive, or wishful, in proportions not seen on such a scale in recent American politics.
Obama’s deficits are destroying this nation. And considering his own words and continued effort to grow government, he is either totally ignorant as to how economics really work in the non-community organizer world, or he intends to do exactly what he’s doing. Either way he is not demonstrating “post-racial, post-partisan” politics, but in fairness, this isn’t really “politics as usual,” either. This is a whole new level of party in power usurpation. And his deficits are destroying our nation, ya now, like Cloward & Piven advocated they would?
