People often wonder about online degrees as to whether they are worth the time, effort and money. In my opinion, many of them can be stepping stones to bigger and better things, like owning your own business or getting a job with an established company. Here is my list of the most beneficial online programs.
Home Inspection. I suggest the American Society of Home Inspectors. “To obtain a license, an applicant must: 1) be at least 21 years of age, 2) obtain a high school diploma or GED, 3) as a prerequisite for sitting for the examination, successfully complete 60 hours of pre-license education from an education provider approved and licensed by OBRE, and 4) take and successfully pass the Home Inspector Examination for Illinois.”
Paralegal. These are professionals who prepare documents and conduct legal research. “Nationally accredited programs will enable you to earn your paralegal certificate in just 7 months, your paralegal associate’s degree in 15 months, or your bachelor’s degree in legal studies in under 3 years.”
Real Estate Appraisal. This industry relies on individuals who are serious about their craft and can be an opportunity to own your own business. “Curriculum is designed specifically to meet the education requirements established by the Appraiser Qualifications Board (AQB) and helps you prepare for the licensing exam in your state.”
Real Estate Agent. Another possibility which requires minimal schooling is becoming a real estate agent. “Real estate often requires lots of hard work, some long hours and dedication if you plan to excel in the industry.”
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). “A certified nursing assistant job is a great entry point for a nursing career.” “You’ll be deeply involved in patient-care, making sure that sick and injured patients have their basic needs met” “In addition to a high school diploma or GED, you’ll need to complete a 6-to-12 week CNA certificate program at a community college or medical facility.”
