In this tutorial, I will show new users how to create sub-file directories in phpWCMS. In order to create these sub-file directories, you will first need to create file directories. If you don’t have your file directories created yet and need help with that, you can see my tutorial on that topic. If you already have your file directories created and want to create sub-file directories, continue with this tutorial.
Opening Your File Directories in phpWCMS
We will begin with opening your file directories page in phpWCMS. Login to your admin panel and look for the File link at the top. Click the File link and you will see the three file links on the left side of your screen. In this section, you will need to find the File Center link and click it. Then you will see your file directories you have created on the right side of your page.
Creating Sub-File Directories in phpWCMS
You are now ready to create your sub-file directories in phpWCMS. In the directory panel, look for the directory you want to create a sub-file directory for. To the right of that directory, you will see the plus sign icon. If you mouse over this icon, it will say make new dir. Click this icon and a box will open on your page.
In the box that opens is where you will need to create the new sub-file directory. Go through the fields and fill in the fields. When you are finished, click the Create button. The box will close and your sub-file directory will be added to the directory you selected.
You can create more sub-file directories by clicking the plus sign beside the same directory or selecting another directory to add your sub-files to. You can create as many sub-files as you want.
If you need help with managing your directories in phpWCMS, you can view my tutorial on that topic. It will show you how to edit directories, delete directories, and view your directories.
