Should praying before a high school football game be allowed? I say absolutely! This is America “In God We Trust.” What has become of God’s Country. I recently have had the opportunity to witness first hand in our small community something very very disturbing. Last Friday night the announcer at the high school football game in Albany, Ga. had a moment of prayer – praying for all students, family members, good sportsmanship, no injuries, safe travel for the visitors – the usual sensible prayers that are very much needed before any sport. However, one person, I repeat one person complained to the school that praying at school functions was not allowed – so of course abiding by the school laws there will be no more prayer over the PA system.
This Friday night all of the Christians in this school have agreed to recite the Lord’s Prayer out loud as soon as the announcer says “Let’s have a moment of silence.” I think this is a remarkable stand that the Christians in this school have taken. We all need to stand by God and not be ashamed and do whatever we have to do to keep prayer in our lives. I will be writing another article after the football game tonight to let all readers know how this turned out. This is absolutely amazing to witness such a remarkable stand for our Lord and Savior! Lets all work together to get the God back in “In God we Trust.”
