These are my predictions for week two of the 2010 NFL season. These are straight won/loss picks suitable for your office football pool. I also made predictions for week one which you can see here. As of Monday morning I am 10-4 with the two night games remaining. These week two predictions for the 2010 NFL season will be with no point spread picks.
Kansas City at Cleveland
Kansas City goes to Cleveland in week two of the 2010 NFL season. Two bad teams will battle it out. I just have no confidence in the Browns quarterback or coaching staff. Kansas City wins 24 to 10.
Buffalo at Green Bay
Green Bay looked great at times against the Eagles but also looked average at times. Buffalo held Miami to a close game but don’t be fooled by that. Miami plays ball control and does not throw it all over the yard like the Packers. Green Bay wins 27 to 17.
Baltimore at Cincinnati
The Bengals swept the Ravens in 2009 and hope to do so again. Baltimore is being considered a Super Bowl contender by many. I think the Ravens travel to Cinci with a chip on their shoulder. Baltimore wins in week two 21 to 14.
Pittsburgh at Tennessee
The Steelers looked decent in beating Atlanta but the Titans were not tested by Oakland in week one. I love Chris Johnson and I think the Titans win at home 17 to 14.
Philadelphia at Detroit
I think the Lions are improving but the loss of quarterback Matthew Stafford to a shoulder injury will hurt them badly. The Eagles may have a quarterback controversy after Michael Vick played well for an injured Kevin Kolb. Eagles win 24 to 7.
Dallas at Chicago
Dallas lost to a mediocre Redskins team and couldn’t contain Donovan McNabb. The new look Bears will be throwing the heck out of the ball and will test Dallas. My week two prediction is the Cowboys win 31 to 27.
Tampa Bay at Carolina
The Panthers got rid of a lot of players in a salary cap purge and turned the reins over to Matt Moore as the starting quarterback. Moore was unimpressive and then suffered a concussion in week one. Tampa Bay quarterback Josh Freeman came off a thumb injury to throw two touchdown passes against the Browns last week. I think the Panthers should get their running game going enough to win 17 to 10.
Arizona at Atlanta
The Falcons didn’t live up to the hype and lost to the Steelers in week one. Arizona barely beat a bad Rams team. Look for Arizona to suffer some jet lag coming east and lose 24 to 10.
Miami at Minnesota
The Vikes lost to a great Saints team in week one and Miami struggled to beat a bad Bills team. Miami will do what they do best and try to control the ball to keep it out of Brett Favre’s hands. I think Minnesota rebounds to win 21 to 17 as Favre shakes off a little more rust.
St. Louis at Oakland
I really thought Oakland would improve this year, maybe so but not yet. The Rams looked decent in losing to an average at best Arizona team. Sam Bradford looks like the real deal but is a rookie needing help. This game is hard to call but I go with the home team when in doubt. Oakland wins in week two, 20 to 10.
Seattle at Denver
The Broncos looked flat in week one and Seattle shocked some people in beating the crap out of San Francisco. I think that was a 49ers team imploding and still think Seattle sucks. I am picking Denver to win at home 21 to 14.
Houston at Washington
As I predicted last week the Texans upset the Colts. As I did not predict Washington knocked off the Cowboys in week one. I think the Texans are for real but need to not let down after a big win. McNabb needs more weapons and the Texans win 30 to 17 in week two.
Jacksonville at San Diego
Jacksonville beat Denver but didn’t look great in week one of the 2010 NFL season. The Chargers should win at home easily, 27 to 17.
New York Jets at New England
The Jets are the new dogs on the porch trying to whip the old top dog Patriots. Tom Brady has a new contract but pouty Randy Moss does not. I think the Jets defense wins this one for them. New York 13, New England 10.
New York Giants at Indianapolis
The Colts lost on the road in Houston and will be fired up to get their first win in 2010. New York found a wide receiver but their passing game isn’t quite up to this task. Peyton Manning defeats Eli Manning; I mean Colts win 34 to 21.
Monday Night Game
New Orleans at San Francisco
I thought the 49ers were for real but was mistaken. Too much infighting combined with a super Saints team means the 9ers lose 28 to 10.
