Cut bird shapes out of blue construction paper. Let students glue blue feathers purchased at a craft store to the birds tails and draw on an eye.
Marble Ocean Scene
Cut a piece of white paper to fit inside of a shoe box. Add several drops of blue paint in different shades to the paper. Put a couple of marbles into the box and place the lid on the box. Let the students rock the box back and forth, rolling the marbles inside. When they open the box, the paper inside should me a mostly blue swirly pattern. When the paper dries, provide construction paper fish shapes to glue onto the paper to complete the underwater scene
Create blueberry paint by adding frozen blueberries to a little water and smashing them. Remove the blueberries from the water and use the water as a watercolor paint to draw on white paper.
Blue Sky Painting
Give students a piece of white paper and let them draw a scene of things they would find in the sky using crayons, such as a sun, birds, airplanes, and kites. Have them draw a few white clouds using their white crayons. Let students paint over their picture with blue watercolors. Watercolor paint can be made by mixing acrylic paint with water to the desired consistency.
Let students draw waves across a piece of piece of paper with different shades of blue finger paint. When the paint dries, glue on boat shapes.
White Clouds on a Blue Sky
Give students a blue piece of construction paper. Give students white cotton balls to make white cloud shapes in the blue sky.
Give students a piece of green construction paper cut out into a bush shape. Let the children make blueberries with round blue stickers. Add a bluebird shape cut out of blue construction paper to the bush. Have students add an eye to the bird and a small triangle beak.
Let students glue pieces of straw to a piece of paper to make a nest shape. Add a few blue eggs cut out of light blue paper to the center of the nest. Have students speckle the eggs by dotting them with a thin brown marker.
