This is one of four rallies that the President will be making to swing states concerning the November 2nd election. President Obama spoke at the Milkwaukee Laborfest earlier this September, stating his plan to create new jobs in the area. Wisconsin has an unemployment rate of 7.8 percent, making Wisconsin one of the states hit hardest by the recession, according to Channel3000.
Obama’s proposal also includes plans to update 150,000 miles of roads, 4,000 miles of railway and 150 miles of airport runway. Furthermore, a new air traffic control system will be put into place to reduce travel time and delays.
All of this is to be accomplished in the next six years.
In August, Obama visited ZBB Energy Corp. in Menominee Falls. ZBB produces fuel cells and batteries for renewable energy products. Obama said that the company represents the United States’ future in renewable energy, according to Channel3000.
The First Lady, Michelle Obama will be appearing in Milwaukee two weeks after Obama’s rally here in Madison, according to the Green Bay Press Gazette. Michelle will be raising money for Russ Feingold, who faces major opposition from Republican candidate Ron Johnson in the upcoming November elections.
Feingold is not expected to attend the rally this Tuesday because Congress is in session.
