As our tan from the summer fades away, we need a sunless way to keep our glowing skin. This is when we resort to self tanners. There are many brands of self tanners out there, with different application methods. Clarins Self Tanning Instant Gel came highly recommended to me and I have used it for a few months now. It’s a little on the expensive side, but it’s worth the price. In this product review, I will tell you why.
The gel formula contained just a little orange tint, but it was mostly milky and clear. It was easy to apply, and smoothed onto the skin evenly.
The formula was light weight. I was barely able to feel it once it was spread all over the skin.
I did not see any orange streaks as the gel spread on evenly. I was able to cover my face, neck, chest and arms with only a little bit of product used.
The tan set in quickly, about thirty minutes or so. I guess that’s why they call it “instant”.
I saw a visible difference and the color was natural-looking. I thought it gave me a healthy glow that much resembled a real tan from the summer.
Like most self tanners, Clarins Self Tanning Instant Gel did smell a little. But it also contained a faint floral scent that was a bit more pleasant.
For a 4.4 oz (125 ml) bottle, the self tanner costs $32.50 at Sephora. The price is steep, but the bottle lasts a long time.
To make it last even longer, I mix the gel with a generous doze of moisturizer each application.
Overall Rating? 4/5. Besides the odor, this product performed extremely well and needed a very limited amount of time for the tan to appear.
Summer is such a beautiful season, filled with fun memories. It’s sad to part way with summer and its memorable elements, like a bronzed skin. But with a product like Clarins Self Tanning Instant Gel, we can preserve at least our tan in the most natural-looking effect.
