It can be quite the hassle to place piles of clothes, towels, sheets and other items in laundry bags and carry them out of the house and to the car before driving off to a laundromat. It is something that cannot be avoided however if one lacks a washing machine, a dryer, or both, or has a machine that cannot handle excessively heavy or bulky items. It is not something that I look forward to doing, even if it is just once a week, but at least B & B Laundry Inc., makes the experience of doing the laundry a bearable one thanks to the laundromat being kept very clean and at a comfortable temperature as well as being staffed with friendly individuals and sources of diversion while the relatively efficient and inexpensive machines literally handle the dirty work. Doing the laundry once a week is not something that I dread as much as I thought I would after we moved into a home where having a washing machine and dryer was not really a practical thing due to space and financial limitations. B & B Laundry Inc., for my family and many others apparently considering the business the laundromat does, offers a fairly priced service that is very helpful.
B & B Laundry Inc. is a laundromat that can handle numerous customers all at once because of the number of washers and dryers it is equipped with. There are approximately twenty washing machines, and some of the washing machines can handle more loads than others, but of course, the larger the capacity a machine is capable of handling, the more expensive it is going to be to use. I use the washing machines that cost a $1.25 to use. I can generally get by with using three washing machines as three washing machines can generally handle the clothes worn by three people, plus sheets and towels. That adds up to $3.75 so far. Detergent can be purchased in the laundromat, but I never have bought any because I always bring my own. Then, I need to wait about thirty-five minutes, which I can spend watching the two flat-screen televisions or reading one of the numerous magazines or even just browsing the board that they have hanging up against the wall where people can post services, stuff for sale, pamphlets and stuff like that. The laundromat is equipped with both a pop machine and a snack machine too. The chairs are not the most comfortable chairs ever designed, but other than that, the laundromat is comfortable to be in. There are numerous ceiling fans as well as central air conditioning. The floor, the machines, the counters, the chairs, the windows, the restroom, everything is kept really clean. It must be some job to keep dirt and filth at bay, but the workers at the B & B Laundry Inc. sure seem to do a good job doing just that.
There are several dryers lined up both horizontally and vertically against the wall and there are some big dryers for larger, bulkier items like rugs and large blankets. Just as there are around twenty washing machines, there are approximately twenty dryers too. I usually use about four dryers, depending on just how much I have that I need or want to have cleaned on a particular week, and it costs $0.25 cents for eight minutes. I usually set the dryers to sixteen minutes, costing me $0.50 each and that generally gets everything pretty close to being dry. That brings me up to $5.75. Sometimes, I can get by with only spending around $4.00 while other times, I may spend $6.00, but again, it varies depending on just how many clothes, rugs, sheets and so on that I have that I have to have or would like to have cleaned. The dryers dry faster than the washers wash, so I’m usually in and out in about an hour and five or or ten minutes. That’s really not too bad, especially considering the washing machines and the dryers do a fine job of cleaning and drying my clothes. I could actually, if I wanted to, just drop off my clothes and ask the attendant on duty at the time to do my clothes, but I prefer to do my own. It is not that I do not trust the attendant to do a good job, because I have seen an attendant do other peoples’ clothes while washing and drying my own and the attendant seems to handle the clothes with care, but I like my clothes washed my way, such as using a certain kind of detergent, sorting the clothes a particular way, adding the kind of fabric softener that I like and only drying the clothes, towels and so on for as long as they need to rather than possibly an extra eight minutes, which would add up depending on the number of machines used. Besides, I would have to make an extra trip to the laundromat. I am happy to do my own. Speaking of the attendants that the laundromat employs, they all seem to be friendly, interested in talking if the customer is interested in chatting and just generally stay on top of things. If there are not many people in the laundromat, and if someone has not requested a particular television station already, a person can even ask the attendant to put on a certain television station.
While I would not say that I look forward to doing the laundry once a week, I am grateful that my experiences at the B & B Laundry Inc. continue to be reasonably pleasant. I do not consider the laundromat to be expensive and the machines in the laundromat are easy to use as all I have to do is use a machine to place money on my laundromat card and insert the card into the machines I am ready to use. The machines are not bristling with various settings, but the basic settings are adequate. The machines operate efficiently and there is stuff to occupy my time while I wait for the machines to finish up. It is always pretty comfortable in the laundromat and the level of cleanliness is impressive. The attendant on hand always makes me feel welcomed. I will definitely continue to come in for all of my laundry needs and it is a laundromat that I very highly recommend.
