Ran out of makeup remover or shaving cream? Some products that you use everyday can multi-task if you need them to; put them to work. You can even find things in your kitchen that may yield the same results as your bottled products. Some fixes aren’t meant for longtime use; others you may want to replace your old regimen with. Whether for long time use or to avoid a beauty blunder for the day, these fixes will come in handy.
Out of your moisturizing cream? Moisturizer is very important. If for some reason you find yourself without moisturizer there are other tricks to get by. Try dabbing olive oil on your skin before bedtime. When you awake your skin will be just as soft as it is with your day and night creams. Another fix is using a pure honey mask for 15- 20 minutes. After this mask, most skin types are soft enough to continue with the daily makeup routine.
Low on shaving cream? Try using a mixture of conditioner and water. Avoid using this mixture on sensitive areas such as the upper lip, bikini line and face. Using a conditioner with a creamy base is ideal.
Eyeliner low? Any dark eye shadow and water makes a handy eyeliner. Use a small angled brush to apply. This trick works well for smudged and smoky looks. For a more precise look, use black eye shadow.
Lip Gloss low? Put your tube(s) in a bowl of luke warm water. The warm water will get the outside of the tube hot enough to melt the lipgloss that sticks to the side of the tube. Make sure that the water isn’t too hot. Also give the bottles about an hour to cool down before applying to your lips. You will be surprised at how much fuller your lipglosses are.
Out of toner? Try a mixture of equal parts apple cider vinegar and water. If your skin is sensitive use less ACV than water. Not only is apple cider vinegar packed with minerals for the skin, but it will help to dry out existing acne. If desired, rinse your skin with cool water afterward.
Need something to de-puff your eyes? Try dipping cotton balls in green tea and freezing for 10 – 15 minutes. The cool sensation of the cotton balls will help relieve puffy eyes. Afterwards, line eyes with a white liner and conceal as usual.
