Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water… Rachel Uchitel rears her head for the cameras yet again. Yes, that Rachel Uchitel, the one who achieved fame and fortune as the mistress of married men such as professional golf star Tiger Woods and actor David Boreanz (Bones). Uchitel, who may be the most reviled woman in the country, stirred up controversy and drew attention to herself again with a recent trip to Ground Zero in New York.
Rachel Uchitel Gets National Exposure in 9/11 Aftermath
Uchitel recently said that all of her issues could be traced 9/11. Her fiancé Andy O’Grady died in the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center, which led to the nation’s first look at her, grieving on the streets of Manhattan. It was very poignant and moving. Who knew what sort of monster was being created.
Nine Years After Her Fiancé’s Death, Rachel Uchitel Visits Ground Zero for “Closure” with Cameras in Tow.
Uchitel made an emotional visit to Ground Zero to honor the memory of O’Grady and gain closure for herself. Unfortunately the emotion of the moment was mitigated by the presence of Dr. Drew Pinsky and a television crew.
Rachel reacted to the suggestion that the Ground Zero visit might include a teeny-tiny bit of self-serving publicity seeking with a great dollop of righteous indignation and characteristic class we have come to expect from her. She bristled at the idea that the visit was a shameless attempt to draw attention, asserting that “I am already well-known.”
“Who the (bleep) are people to talk about me” and “No one can (bleep) with me about 9/11” were among her other thoughtful responses.
Sorry Rachel. No Sale. You were so broken up about your loss that you soothed yourself with a string of relationships with wealthy, married men. The operative terms being wealthy and married.
Oh yes, did we mention that Rachel said she had not been back to Ground Zero since those terrible September days in 2001 and needed closure. How nice. So how does she explain Good Morning America digging up a tape of her being interviewed at Ground Zero with her nine months later? Maybe she can go the Paris Hilton route…It was not really her.
Rachel Uchitel Does Not Get It
“Who…..are people to talk about me?” You can’t be serious. Since her illicit relationship with Tiger Woods became public, Ms. Uchitel’s publicity seeking has been relentless. She pitched a reality television show for herself and allegedly tried to get a spot on Dancing with the Stars. Now she is offended by people talking about her. You can’t have it both ways Rachel.
Finally, Uchitel parades her “grief” at Ground Zero in front of the cameras, with Dr. Drew Pinsky tagging along, and then wonders why people think it is a publicity stunt? The same goes for her stint on Celebrity Rehab.
Her visit to Ground Zero should have been an intimate time of mourning and reflection. Instead she turned it into a media circus, which seems to be her greatest talent.
And that is why (bleeping) people are talking about her.
