Just days after the buzz surrounding Glee cast members’ racy photo shoot for GQ, Dancing with the Stars featured its own sleazy student number on the October 26, results show.
Last week’s DWTS Macy’s Stars of Dance segment featured the Powerhouse show choir from John Burroughs High School in Burbank, CA, doing a song and dance performance which included more half-dressed coeds than an episode of The Hills. Bumping and grinding to a medley of Alice Cooper’s School’s Out and Queen’s We Will Rock You, teenage performers strutted around the stage, shirts unbuttoned, revealing sexy lingerie and more. In some high-kicks and lifts, the girls’ undergarments were visible from every angle.
Recall just last week, Glee came under fire for a ‘mature’ photo spread in GC featuring stars of the hit FOX show Lea Michele, Cory Monteith and Dianna Agron.
The difference between these two events is that the stars of Glee are adults portraying high schoolers, whereas the DWTS guest performers are actually teenagers. Add to that GC is an adult publication unavailable for sale to minors. Dancing with the Stars is a network television show seen by millions each week.
Which is more likely to be seen by underage eyes: an adult magazine or a network TV show?
Ironically, the Powerhouse show choir was the inspiration for the Glee series in the first place.
Given the alleged caution and pursuant flack surrounding Miley Cyrus’s performance of Can’t Be Tamed on Dancing with the Stars last season, you would think the show producers would have been more conservative in their guest act selections.
