T.I. is a 30-year-old rapper who is facing drug charges and is already on probation. So what is it he does to help prepare for his legal battle? According to TMZ, T.I. takes on the unusual hobby of helping to save lives. T.I. heard on the radio about a suicidal man threatening to jump from a 22-story building. T.I. decided to lend his expertise to the Atlanta police by recording a video message for the troubled man. T.I.’s plan worked to perfection; the man met T.I. in the hotel lobby to talk about things.
Miley Cyrus Shows heart instead of too much skin
To most parents, Miley Cyrus went from being a great role model to the second coming tragedy known as Britney Spears. Her clothes have become skimpier and her videos wreak of sex appeal. It’s not exactly what parents want their pre-teens tuning into. For all of the negative attention Miley is now receiving, her giving nature is being overlooked.
People tells the cheerful tale of how a 17-year-old took the initiative to use her celebrity status for the good of others. Miley got her celebrity friends together to put on an online auction to go toward the emergency relief efforts in Haiti. How many teenagers do you know would think of what they could do to help, instead of just commenting that they are happy they didn’t live in Haiti?
Curt Schilling and his wife Shonda recruit nine new Boston Red Sox fans
Maybe Curt Schilling mistakenly thought the Boston Red Sox were a mid-market team and needed to do anything to get themselves nine new, devoted diehards. Even if that was the case, I still doubt anybody would have come up with this idea.
After Hurricane Katrina, Curt and Shonda Schilling wanted to do something other than just donating money. They wanted to do something more meaningful and personal. As Boston Globe reports, they found a way to do just that. The Schillings decided to open up their home to a family of nine that was left homeless from Hurricane Katrina. They agreed to let the family live at their house for at least one full year.
Brad Pitt decides to be home builder instead of home wrecker
Brad and Angelina are known as two of the most charitable celebrities in Hollywood. When Hurricane Katrina hit, Pitt stepped right in to to lend a helping hand. MSNBC Today reports that Pitt teamed with Make It Right to build just shy of 50 new homes for the still-grieving city.
Miley Cyrus’ good deed seems forgotten by now, and Curt Schilling’s hardly made news as he tried to not go public with it and all anybody cares about Pitt is how Jolie and he are doing. In the long run, these acts of caring and helping another man will not help save T.I. from scrutiny, unless he sees this as a flash of wisdom and changes his ways. However, this world is all about what have you done for me lately, and when it comes to his court case, I’m sure this little something he has done of late will be mentioned. It will not get him out of trouble altogether, but for a man looking for a little forgiveness, I think he’ll find the court to be a little softer than they otherwise would have been.
That in itself will have people questioning whether this was all just a made up hoax. Let’s hope for the future of this world that the act was genuine and the timing coincidental.
