This article will serve as a walkthrough for the second Allied mission in the PC game Command and Conquer: Red Alert 3 which is entitled ‘The Shark and the Lure’. This mission starts the player off with a small base to sabotage the Soviet forces through commando methods . The objectives of The Shark and the Lure in Red Alert 3 is to drive the Soviets out of Cannes. The Allied Commander will be assisted by Warren in the struggle against Moskvin’s forces during The Shark and the Lure in Red Alert 3.
Red Alert 3: The Shark and the Lure Primary Objectives
1. Get spies into the port buildings.
2. Save the Allied leaders
3. Get Tanya into the port authority building.
4. Sink the Soviet dreadnoughts.
5. Wipe out the Soviet base.

1. Disable the defenses around the airbase.

The mission starts with Tanya and a handful of spies under your control, while the co-commander is busy holding off the Soviet forces on land. Train a few extra spies (and continue training some extra so you always have at least 3 available for this first phase of the mission) and move them with Tanya to the left entrance of the left island. Keep them in the water just before the ramp to keep Tanya out of range of the tesla coil there, while taking a disguised spy and disabling the power generator right next to the coil. This will allow Tanya to quickly reach land, while attack-moving to clear the conscripts before planting C4 on the tesla coil.
Move the spies and Tanya further into the left island, keeping the spies disguised at all times and behind Tanya to keep them safe from enemy soldiers or bears. Leave a single spy next to the power generator you disabled earlier to shut down the defenses again soon. Attack move Tanya to the stack of crates to the left of the right island entrance and then down the southern past keeping out of range of the nearby tesla coil. When she has made it to a point just south of the coil, behind the barracks, send the spy in to disable the power. After this move Tanya to the coil and plant C4 on it before doing the same on the Barracks afterwards.
Next is to move Tanya to the north of that island, clearing out the guarding bears and blowing up the last Barracks on this island. Doing this allows you to stem the Soviets from replacing their guards. Make sure to get Tanya to pick up the veterancy crate. Once the Island is clear, use 2 spies to capture the 2 port buildings here. Train more spies and have them rally at the right entrance of the now clear island.
Have Tanya hold position in the water away from the tesla coil guarding the left entrance to the right island. Leave her here for about a minute, that way she can clear the water from 3 groups of bears that patrol the edges of the island. In the mean time, move the spies into the next island, making them take the first path south to avoid the bears to the upper part of the island. Once they made it south, you can send one into the power generator to allow Tanya to C4 the tesla coil and make her way inland. It will take 2 spies to do this, as the coil will need to be shut off long enough for her to make her way to its rear, the same path the spies had to take to the power generators, since sandbags block her path. Next have Tanya clear out some defenders in the center of the island before shutting off the power again to allow her to C4 the coil at the right entrance of the island, before destroying the 2 barracks there.
There are no bears at the top portion of this island, nor are there barracks to produce more, so once Tanya has killed the bears near the port authority building, you are free to send disguised spies into the remaining port buildings, ignoring the tesla coils and conscripts at the north entrance. Once they’ve occupied the final 2 port buildings, make Tanya take the Port Authority to start a cut scene where she obliterates a large portion of the Soviet armada through sabotage.
Tanya’s next task during this next phase is to swim into the water out the left entrance of the island she was just on, then north to C4 the four dreadnoughts bombarding the land. Build tanks and various attack forces while she does this. By this time the co-commander should have had little problem rescuing the allied commanders. Once the four of them down, instruct the co-commander to attack the soviet base, and send your newly built forces along with Tanya to clear out the base. By this time the co-commander should also have a sizeable force, so play support with your tanks and Tanya (engineers in IFVs can help repair friendly vehicles during the attack) and make sure the tanks handle the turrets before Tanya goes and C4s everything she can touch. Once all the production structures are down, this mission is victorious.
