Listening to those who suppose to know made me begin to see why this nation has become so blind to obvious things. The media is suppose to be our segue into the world of politics, world events and local occurrences. Because of that many spend a great amount of time listening, reading and digesting the news as it is presented by those whom we trust the most. Many are beginning to come away with digestive problems because those assigned to present it as it happens are spending more time adding their own seven herbs and spices. Just tell it like it is and allow us the opportunity to make up our own minds.
“Savoring a return to power in the House and a strengthened hand in the Senate, Republican leaders promised Wednesday to deliver on their “golden opportunity” to roll back the size of government and, in time, President Barack Obama’s signature health care law.” “Change course we will,” vowed Ohio Rep. John Boehner, the speaker-in-waiting.” “He described Tuesday’s midterm elections as a “mandate for Washington to reduce the size of government.” “The American people spoke and I think it is pretty clear that the Obama-Pelosi agenda is being rejected by the American people,” Boehner said.” “Repealing the health care law, with its mandates and subsidies to extend health insurance to nearly all Americans, has been a Republican rallying cry for months but Obama, with his veto power, stands in the way.” “I think it is important for us to lay the groundwork before we begin to repeal this monstrosity,” Boehner said.” “In the heady election aftermath, some Republicans cautioned their own that they have worked to do in building public trust in a time when many Americans are fed up with both parties.” “We’ve been given a second chance and a golden opportunity,” said Rep. Eric Cantor of Virginia, No. 2 Republican in the House.” “But, he added, “People want to see results.” “Sen.-elect Paul, appearing Tuesday night before supporters in Bowling Green, Ky., declared, “We’ve come to take our government back.” (Woodward, Calvin, 11/03/2010, Associated Press, Republicans ride voter unrest to control of House, Retrieved from email@example.com).
So many were quick to blame everything that did not go the way they wanted it to on another but spoke very little about what they would do differently. While the American people did speak Mr. Boehner and it was decided that since our party and the Tea Party feel that you know better, then have at it. We are going to give you as much time as you gave this president and his administration to fix these issues that you say you know how just be very much aware if you fail to complete this mission, you will not only hear “I told you so” from so many like me, both your parties will se the results in years to come for quite some time. Mr. Cantor is right, you have been given a second chance after you presided over the policies that put us in this ditch, no excuses is warranted or will be accepted. The job is now yours so put your money where your mouth is.
As far as so many who suppose to know getting it wrong, Chuck Todd from the Daily Rundown asked this question of which I have an answer. He asked if the president has a communication problem, the answer is no. His issue is that for the first time since the creation of this nation we have a president who is more concerned with doing it right than doing it again. The pundits spoke as if President Obama needs to govern to assure himself of a second term. That would be true if a second term was that entire he was concerned with. Try and ask that same question considering a person who is more concern with getting it right and see where the answer takes you. Commentators wishes to make it a point that there was a drop in the Democratic base coming out. That part is true but the reason was to say to those Democrats when we asked you to stand with us and this president, you choose to go your own way. We warned those Democrats that our voice is the only ones they needed to heed but they decided to ignore us. They will not have to choose any longer. The American public did speak Mr. Boehner and if you think that the same can not or will not happen again, you are sadly mistaken. If we can remove our own from office for playing politics with our lives, we will surely remove those we trust less. This election and the need to stay home was not a referendum on anyone except those we decided not to support.
