One of Nashville’s most well known restaurants is The Ordinary. This restaurant is a step into the past and is a warm, friendly atmosphere. The Ordinary serves lunch and dinner and features soups, sandwiches, wild game, pot roast, and steaks. They offer a full bar and will host group dining or rehearsal dinners.
Another well- known restaurant is housed in the oldest building in town. The Hobnob located at the corner of Main Street and Van Buren Street. This restaurant serves breakfast and lunch daily and serves dinners on Wednesdays through Sundays. Most of the food is traditional foods such as sandwiches, soups, and salads as well as some specialties which vary with the seasons.

If you are looking for a step back in time, go to the Nashville General Store and Bakery, located in the yellow building in Nashville. This wonderful little shop is located at 118 East Washington Street and will be a real treat for anyone wanting to savor the atmosphere of Nashville. Visitors will find specialties such as chicken salad made with grapes and pecans, fresh pumpkin bread, smoked turkey breast sandwiches, fresh baked bread, smoked hams, and even a wonderful barbecue sandwich.
Artist Colony Restaurant
Another fairly well-known restaurant is the Artist Colony Restaurant. They offer salads, sandwiches, and steak dinners. There are several specialty items on the menu but one of my favorites is the sweet potato fries served with brown sugar sauce. They also offer fresh bread and desserts made daily. One of the best menu deals that they offer is the breakfast buffet for $6.95 per person. They also offer many specials on the weekends, when traffic in town is much heavier.

If you would like to view the sights of Nashville from a little higher level than street level, stop by The Seasons Lodge. At the lodge, you can visit the Accent Dining Room and enjoy some breathtaking views of the scenery as well as enjoy some of the fine dining that they have to offer. Dining is available for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. On Tuesdays, the special is a fried chicken buffet for all guests to enjoy and on Friday evenings, they offer a prime rib buffet. I would recommend that you make reservations at this restaurant, especially on those two evenings.
Darlene’s is another nice restaurant located within a hotel. It is located inside Hotel Nashville, right in the heart of town. They offer a casual Victorian setting and serve some fabulous foods. On the menu, the choices range from salads, pasta to seafood and Angus beef as well as homemade desserts. They also offer a full bar for all your drinking needs.

This is a nice restaurant to be a family atmosphere.
Salt Creek Golf Course
If you happen to be a golf fanatic, there are a couple of nice restaurants located at Salt Creek Golf Course. There is the 19th Hole Sports Bar, which is a wonderful little place for a night out with the boys. The 19th Hole turns from a classic lunch eatery into a sports bar, with pool tables, an arcade, and darts, in the evening. The 19th Hole offers the best drink specials in town with $1.00 draft beers on Wednesday. This is a sports bar and inside you will find 5 flat screen HD TV’s and it is home to the Salt Creek tenderloin, an Indiana specialty. On Friday and Saturday evenings, there is live entertainment from all sorts of music venues. One thing that I recommend from here is the cheese fries, some of the best that I have ever eaten.
Salt Creek Golf Course is also home to The Overlook restaurant. This is a finer dining experience with a menu that includes steaks, seafood, chicken, and pasta along with a full bar including a long list of wines. Reservations are recommended for here as well, although they are not required. Sunday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., they serve brunch which is said to be one of the best that you will ever eat.
Finally, if you are a Bob Knight fan, an Indiana basketball fanatic, or a Texas Tech fan, be sure to check out That Sandwich Place.
