I am finally starting to get over the cold that has plagued me for the past three weeks or so. However, I either ate something that didn’t agree with me yesterday or I picked up some sort of stomach bug (probably the latter) because I found myself running to the bathroom every 10-15 minutes.
Since I had to work, this was obviously a big inconvenience for me. So, when I went home at lunch, I looked for something to help get my problem under control and ended up taking a couple Equate Pink Bismuth chewable tablets.
I picked this medicine up a couple months ago (the last time I had an upset stomach) because it was considerably less than the Pepto Bismol I originally went to the store for. The attraction for me, other than the obvious price difference, was the fact it came in tablet form rather than liquid (Pepto does too, but they were out). This is important to me because I never could drink a liquid form of this type of medicine without gagging on the chalky taste and making myself sicker.
I have purchased cheaper brands like this in the past and, even though there shouldn’t be a difference between them and the more expensive Pepto, there usually is. Most of the time, when I buy a cheaper brand, I need to take several doses of it before it will even begin to work. And, when I bought the Equate, I expected the same (the price difference was enough to justify that at the time).
However, when I took this yesterday, I discovered almost immediately that, just because this product cost quite a bit less, it wasn’t any less effective than the more expensive brand.
As I said before, I had been running to the bathroom on a regular basis all morning and even was in there twice while I was home for lunch. After my second trip, I chewed up two of these pills and packed away a few more for later. I never used the other tablets. The first two did the job and I didn’t have to run to the bathroom even once all afternoon. When the bug snuck back up on me late in the evening, two more of these tablets were enough to keep it under control all night.
If you have an upset stomach and are looking for effective relief that doesn’t cost too much, I would recommend this product.
