My wife and I decided to make a beef sausage we had in our refrigerator the other day. Since I knew neither of my kids would eat that, I decided to stop off and pick up some chicken nuggets for them to share.
Since it was still a couple days until payday, money was getting a bit tight. So, rather than buying our regular brand, I looked for a more affordable alternative. That’s why I ended up buying chicken breast nuggets from the brand Fast Fixin’.
To tell you the truth, had this been any other brand, I probably would have just bought the chicken nuggets we always do because the savings really wasn’t all that much; less than $1. But, I have had other Fast Fixin’ products before and, while not quite as good as the more expensive brands, I have never really had any complaints about the quality. And, as it turns out, I ended up having the same opinion of this product.
One thing I found I liked about this brand compared to our regular brand was the size of the nuggets. Normally, I like brands that give me things in bigger sizes. But, I actually liked the fact these nuggets were smaller. This is because they are just the right size for our youngest daughter (she usually ends up leaving half of her nuggets uneaten) and aren’t small to the point they wouldn’t be large enough for our oldest daughter; though I did give her an extra one just in case.
While the nuggets were cooling, I took a bite out of one and found the meat inside it seemed to OK in terms of quality. I don’t know if it was as good as our regular brand but at least it was white in color rather than gray (like many other cheap brands). And, they weren’t full of fat like many, many others.
My only real complaint about this product was there wasn’t much in terms of seasoning on the nuggets. Personally, I do prefer this compared to nuggets that use too much pepper (my kids won’t eat chicken nuggets like that). But, I do think they could have added a bit more to prevent them from being a bit on the bland side.
As I mentioned before, these weren’t quite as good as the more expensive brand. But, if you are looking for a cheaper alternative that still offers reasonable quality, I would recommend these chicken breast nuggets.
