Looking for pizza places in the Chicago area? Try Papa’s Pizza Place either in Woodridge, IL; Willowbrook, IL; or Bolingbrook, IL. It is a good choice if you like thin crust pizza.
I recently made a trip to Chicago for a week. My boyfriend Dan and I made the ten-hour drive and arrived in the suburbs around seven on a Saturday evening. We decided to eat at Papa’s Pizza Place that night with his aunt, and spend the rest of the evening relaxing. I had never eaten there, but Dan goes to Papa’s every time he visits Chicago.
Family owned, Papa’s Pizza Place has been serving the Chicago area for over 35 years. Papa’s has always been recognized for its unique tasting thin crust pizza with fresh ingredients that are made fresh to order daily.
The atmosphere is comfortable as you walk in, and you will either be seated at a booth or a table. We sat in a corner booth and ordered our drinks. The waitress brought our drinks, minus my water, and took our orders.
I forgot to ask for my glass of water until she brought our appetizers and salad. Other than the forgotten water, the waitress was really nice. I was almost full after eating my salad, but still was in the mood for pizza. The large pepperoni pizza we ordered was crispy and delicious while it was still fresh.
Besides pizza, the menu also lists various sandwiches to choose from, a couple pasta dishes, shrimp, and desserts. Of course, I stuffed myself too full to even consider dessert. We even took a good portion of the pizza along to refrigerate.
I don’t remember exactly how much our meal cost, since Dan’s aunt insisted on paying for it, but it seems like it was a fair price for the amount of food we ate. We got a huge pizza, some appetizers and a house salad (for me), and our drinks.
But then I ate a cold piece of pizza for breakfast one morning, and it just wasn’t the same. The crust had turned soggy, so even if I had heated it, I still don’t think I would have liked the leftovers. It’s much better fresh.
If you are in the Chicago area, I hope you will try Papa’s pizza at one of its three locations. I enjoyed their freshly-made, thin crust pizza on my first night there. It was a delicious way to start out my trip.
