Nate Berkus is a talented decorator that was discovered a few years back by Oprah Winfrey. Since his first appearance on her show, he has been traveling all over the country to help people redecorate their homes, one room at a time. He had become a huge hit with Oprah fans and decorating fans alike. It was announced at the beginning of this year that Oprah would be sponsoring him in his own Television show (since her show is coming to a close this year).
The Nate Berkus Show airs Monday – Friday at 3pm on NBC in the New York City market (check local listings for air times in your area). Nate’s show is similar to the work which he did on Oprah with a few different segments thrown into the mix. Everyday he helps a family or a person organize and redecorate their lives or their homes. One of his first guests was comedian Kim Coles whom had her own makeup dilemma. She had been buying it, and collecting it for as long as she could remember. Nate had a makeup organization expert come on his show and teach her how to know when it’s time to throw the old makeup out. She showed her how to date each makeup as it’s opened and discard after their individual expiration dates. She also taught Kim how to display the makeup she has in a decorative, fun way without having it all out in the open strewn about her counter-tops.
Today, Nate had famed country singer Dolly Parton come out and surprise a husband whose wife had just passed away while giving birth to twins. The wife was a huge fan of Parton, so she was elated to come to Nate’s New York studio and support the family in their time of loss. Nate also sent his crew to the home of the husband to redecorate the twins nursery, which his wife had started doing before her passing.
The Nate Berkus show is a fun, uplifting, educational hour of television that is attracting a huge audience. It’s a great show that seems like it will be around for a while. Given his huge success while appearing on the Oprah show, it should be.
