Out of the few eye pencils I own, I own two Victoria’s Secret Pink Me Up Chubby Eye Pencils. The Victoria’s Secret eye pencils are jumbo sized, as noted in the name, and are about standard size for a jumbo eye pencil. They come with a sturdy, clear plastic cab, and a sharpened, yet soft tip.
The packaging is excellent, and the product looks impossible to break. The writing on the outside does wear off after a while, but it really isn’t a big deal.
The eye shadow itself is very creamy and smooth. Its consistency is probably on the less creamy side of a cream shadow. It is creamier than a pencil eyeliner, but not as creamy as cream eyeshadow in general. It blends smoothly. However, one thing I would comment on about the application is that because it starts with a tip, it is hard to spread the eyeshadow over a large surface area. However, once you start using it for a while, it will probably get easier.
Because it isn’t as creamy as a creamy eyeshadow, it does not crease as easily. However, I still do not think it is meant to be worn alone. It will crease no matter what. I would suggest buying a more neutral color, like white, silver, gold, or brown, and use it as a base for your powdered eyeshadows.
My eye pencils are in green and white. The green is a very pearly sort of green, more on the blue side than yellow. It’s well pigmented, and I love it when I use green eyeshadow. It’s great as a base for blue eyeshadows as well. My white pencil is a pearly white, but is not as pigmented as the green. It is lighter and harder to see. However, it is a more neutral color that will be easier to use with most other eyeshadows.
All in all, I like the chubby eye pencils. I don’t actually use them a lot, so they may not be as useful as other products, but I do think they are good products, and for the price, 2 for $10, it was not a bad deal. It will take me a while to get through the two pencils, but I think it’s a good investment overall.
