Sobieski Vodka is a new up-and-comer in an already crowded vodka market. In it’s brief tenure Sobieski has already made it’s way up the ranks as one of the most popular brands in Poland and is now hitting America with the same force. Proving this fact, they have also thrown their name in the ring of an even more crowded flavored vodka market with the introduction of Sobieski Karamel Vodka. On the upside, caramel flavored vodka’s are relatively unheard of due to the fact that many people associate the flavor with some rums.
But not so fast my friends. Sobieski boasts a flavor all its own without sacrificing the taste that vodka drinkers prefer. Sobieski Karamel is a distilled from rye vodka and is infused with caramel flavors. As with all Sobieski products it also has the backing of Mr. Bruce Willis.
Upon first receiving the sample of Sobieski Karamel, I kept it real! I just took a shot. It has a very silky vodka taste up front and delivers a HUGE smack of caramel flavor on the back end. This holds true in every drink I made with it. Alot of vodka taste when you first put it in your mouth…ton of sweet, caramel back lash when you swallow it. This could be a plus or minus depending on your tastes.
However, given the price, the taste, and the HUGE marketing campaign that is being used in most major cities right now it is definitely worth a try. They also boast a few other few flavors such as Raspberry, Cytron, and its regular staple Vodka. The best drink I experimented with turned out to be a Karamel Apple! Easy to make and delicious to drink!
Start with ice in a rocks glass
Add 1 1/2 ounce of Karamel Sobieski Vodka
Add 1 ounce of Apple Liquer or Schnapps (I used Dekuyper’s Sour Apple)
Add 1/2 ounce of Sweet Sour Mix
Fill with Lemon Lime Soda
