For a while, I’ve been looking for nice nude lipstick, and I’d heard some good things about Revlon’s Colorburst Lipstick, so I decided to try it out. I bought my lipstick at a local Walgreen’s. It was on sale for $6.99, though its regular price was $8.99.
The lipstick comes in a square black container with a diamond pattern on top. The lipstick itself has a nice tapered top (not pointy), and the packaging looks very much like a Chanel lipstick, and the top of the lipstick looks like a copy of Chanel’s lipstick. I think that the packaging is very high quality and elegant. The lipstick twists all the way down, so there is less of a chance of nicking the lipstick.
First off, this lipstick is so creamy and feels so nice on the lips. It applies very smoothly, and I love putting it on. It doesn’t settle into the fine lines of the lips. It is a little glossy, and blends in very nicely. The lipstick itself is also well-pigmented, so you really do not need to apply a lot.
The lipstick is a lovely pinkish, peachy nude. It is not skin color, so it does not wash your complexion out. However, it is a little too orangey for my taste, but I think that it is a very flattering and wearable nude that is suitable for different skin tones and occasions.
This lipstick does have a little bit of scent, and though I would prefer a scentless lipstick, the scent does not really bother me. It is sometimes distracting to wear, but otherwise, I think it’s fine. For people that are bothered by scented lipstick, maybe this is not for you.
Because the lipstick is so creamy, it does not stay on very long without lipliner. I do not like wearing lipliner, especially because I am sometimes in a hurry in the mornings, and I am still looking for a lipstick that will stay better without the lipliner. However, I am happy to see that it does not settle into fine lines, which is a problem for some lipsticks when used without liner. Because I have to reapply so often, the lipstick will probably not last as long, even though it is pigmented. For its regular price, $9, I probably would not purchase it. MAC lipsticks are only about $5 more, and higher quality.
I think it’s a nice lipstick overall. It’s packaging is so cute, and it feels so nice on the lips, and the color is gorgeous, but it does not last that long for its price.
