I love my old hairdryer, which is a Vidal Sassoon 1600. It has to be 20 years old, and still works, but sometimes the on switch has to be wiggled for it to work. So when we were in Super Wal-Mart I checked out hairdryers. The prices were around $15 to $25, but then I noticed the New Style by Revlon 1875 watt Dryer for just under $10.
This was such a good price, and a name that I trust, so I picked it up and added it to my shopping cart.
On the box it states that it ‘Dries hair fast for great results’. It has 2 heat/speed settings, and also a cold shot button.
So I got it home and took it out of the box. The hairdryer is black, and has ‘Revlon’ on the drying end in silver lettering. The off/high/low switch, and the cold shot button are a pale gray color.
This is a no frills hairdryer. You basically plug it in, and then switch it on. I like to start my hair on high, and then cool it down with the low button.
I use a brush to curl my hair, while drying it, and the Revlon Style hairdryer works fine with it. What I really like about this hairdryer is that it is lightweight, and fairly small in design. I have either arthritis in my hands, or cramping, and using a heavy hairdryer can twist my wrist. I broke my right wrist a few years back, and it is weaker, and can cause me problems too.
The hairdryer comes with a single page leaflet. It shows a picture of the RVD5034 hairdryer, and pinpoints details on it. It has a long list of danger, and warnings, but all of these are just common sense.
Another feature I like is that this hairdryer is a dual-voltage appliance. When purchasing it the setting is for America, but you can change it to 250 volt for England. If you do so, then it must be used on the low setting.
I have now used it 3 times, and it works just as good as my old one. When I am not using it, it has a hanging ring, so I can either put in on one of my hooks, or slide it back in the box.
I am extremely happy with my new Style by Revlon 1875 watt dryer. I am delighted that I didn’t pay $20 or more for one, that would have been much heavier, and more difficult for me to use. The older I get the easier I like my appliances. This one gets ‘thumbs up’ from me.
