In my home daycare business I care for seven school aged children. Both my mother-in-law and my sister-in-law are hair stylists and have shown me many ways to fix girls hair. After my daycare girls learned about all the things I could do with their hair, they started asking me every morning to fix their hair for school.
I didn’t mind doing this, but the hair ties and clips that I sent they home with never came back, so I started to look for cheaper alternatives. Products that were so inexpensive that I didn’t care if the girls brought them back the next day or not.
What I found was a package of Scunci 100 Count Hair Ties, in black. These come wrapped around a rectangular shaped card, and they are elastic hair ties with a small gold piece of metal in the back, connecting the two ends to form a loop. (Some of the more expensive Scunci hair ties do not have the metal strip).
I paid about $3 for this package of 100 ties, and they have served their purpose, but there are a few downfalls with this value priced item. First, in comparison to some of the Scunci hair ties on the market, these are fairly thin. They also stretch out quite quickly and easily. As I try to wrap the hair tighter with these ties, they dig into my fingers, something that I do not experience with the fatter, more expensive Scunci Hair Ties.
Yesterday I put one of my girls hair in a simple pony tail, and the Scunci Hair Tie was stretched out before I was even finished, I ended up taking it out and doubling it up, then trying again. I used one this morning to hold my own hair back, and as I twisted it around my pony tail, I kept wrapping and wrapping! It was stretching as I went, and it didn’t hold my fine hair very tight at all.
Considering I purchased this package of Scunci 100 Pieces Pony Tail Holder with the thought of using them just once (since I knew I was not getting them back the next morning), I feel that they have served their purpose, but I personally would never buy these for myself. I wanted a cheap hair tie that was functional, and these work okay, but when the girls come home from school their hair is never as nice as when they left the house. When I used more expensive hair ties they worked much better, and the girls hair was tighter at the end of the day. Now their hair is falling out.
Overall, for the low price, I can’t complain too much. If you are looking for a hair tie that has a one time use, these Scunci 100 Pieces Pony Tail Holders might be an option for you.
