Seasonal beverages that inspire holiday flavors and warm feelings are the perfect for your holiday celebration. This easy to make beverage can be made with or with out alcohol so everyone can enjoy this seasonal treat! It pairs perfectly with Thanksgiving or Christmas desserts like pumpkin pie and apple pie. This beverage is similar to the Carmel Apple Cider served by Starbucks.
Hot Carmel Apple Cider
1 cup of Apple Cider per person
3 teaspoons of vanilla flavored syrup per cup of Apple Cider (this can also be purchased from coffee houses like Starbucks and The Coffee Bean or ordered online.)
Whipped Cream (from a can or fresh made)
Dark Rum (optional) add to taste
Heat the Apple Cider on low heat so it does not burn. Once it is heated, divide cider into mugs and add three teaspoons of vanilla syrup to each mug of cider and stir. If you wish to add alcohol, add the desired amount to your mug of cider. If you like a sweeter drink, you can add more syrup to taste. Top with whipped cream and a drizzle of carmel over the top of the whipped cream. Serve and enjoy.
