Select Harvest Tomato with Basil Soup was surprisingly good. I was surprised because I have rarely tasted a store bought tomato soup I like as much as my mom’s homemade tomato soup recipe made from homegrown tomatoes and herbs.
The Select Harvest Tomato with Basil Soup pairs wonderfully with grilled cheese. For better nutrition, try using Ezekiel bread for your grilled cheese to dip into the Select Harvest tomato soup. It also pairs well with Amy’s pizza.
The Select Harvest soup does contain a bit of sugar (12 grams in a serving) but they did not use high fructose corn syrup. Also, most tomato products do need sugar to reduce the acid. Tomato soups and spaghetti sauces would be unpalatable without some sugar.
Select Harvest Tomato with Basil Soup has a robust flavor. I loved the touch of basil and sea salt. I was actually surprised I did not need to add salt and pepper.
