There is an exceptional thrift shop in Fredericktown, Missouri run by Senior Citizens. These ladies are not movie stars but they are the real stars in this small town. All these ladies who work here have clout in my book. There are 15 ladies who volunteer at the little shop. Norma Tripp is the supervisor and I must say she does a good job! The proceeds go to the Senior Citizens Center.
Sunday the store is closed so most people can go to church. The ladies sort through the donations on Monday so the store is also closed while these dedicated ladies work hard., sorting and pricing items. It takes a lot of hard work to keep this shop going. Tuesday through Friday, the shop opens at 10 in the morning. and close at 4:30 p.m. On Saturday, it closes at 1:30 p.m.
They have beautiful clothes and I am not exaggerating. I buy name brand clothes and shoes for a very reasonable prices every week. I bought this lovely black coat the other day. It was made in France and I only paid $5.00 for it ! How is that price for a new coat? The condition of the coat is excellent. I don’t think it was ever worn! I love it. I actually have three other coats I bought here last winter. They are all in the original price range of several hundred dollars for each, if new. I am also a senior citizen . I could never afford to buy one of these coats, except at the Seniors Citizens Thrift Shop.
I also buy name brand suits that come from Macy’s, right here at this lovely shop. No one would know where I bought them. Well, except the people who read this article.
I don’t have a big Christmas budget so I buy lots of toys for the grandchildren at this shop. I buy all year long. It is a blessing to come to this store! I buy dolls, clothes, shoes , toys, and a lot of books for them here. In the back room they have bag day, twice a week. Everything you can fit in a plastic bag for $2.00! Don’t forget bag day on Saturday. Get there early, hurry, they close at 1:30 pm.
When I enter the store I usually go to the book section. I am a big spender at this shop when it comes to books. They have a book area and I am so glad to add to my collection. I love children’ s books, Christian books, old classics, biographies. I also have certain authors I look for, like Maya Angelou, or Karla Dornknacker. My grandchildren have a library of their own at my apartment!
There are curtains, dishes, knickknacks, and games. They have suits, ties and hats for men. There are to many items to name them here. They have CD’S and DVD’s..
