Dear Aunt Margaret:
Thank you for that Christmas vest. There is nothing quite like a homemade present during Christmas and I I love the big red buttons you sewed on the vest with green thread. What a clever idea.
And few people would be imaginative enough to make a red Christmas vest and cover it with green glitter. It surely does sparkle under the Christmas lights. Also making the fake pockets out of real Christmas bows was a nice touch too.
And I can’t say enough about the little reindeer and Santa Clauses you glued on top of the glitter. Is that called applique?
I also enjoyed the collar you glued to the vest with the bright red and green Christmas ribbons hanging down. Again, a delightful touch ! And of course, I also loved the real candy canes you glued to the vest, on top of the Santas and Reindeers and glitter. That is nice because if I get hungry, I can just pull off a candy cane and eat it!
Of course, I love the felt Christmas tree you glued on the back of the vest and the little red and white felt Christmas packages you glued under the tree. I can tell you are really enjoying that hot glue gun we got you for Chrismas last year.
I always say a glue gun, a few sips of wine and there’s no telling what the creative mind will come up with.
All in all, it is a snappy vest and there is nothing quite like a real homemade gift. I hope you don’t mind, but I passed the vest onto my brother, the lawyer, who wanted a vest just like it and I will make sure he wears it to all his court dates to spread Christmas cheer throughout the legal system.
Bu the way, my brother, although he is too shy to ask, really did love that homemade fruitcake with the broccoli sprinkles and I am sure he would be delighted, just delighted ,if you sent him another one.
Regarding the vest, I was especially pleased to hear that you bought the felt for a steal at the dollar store and have enough left over to make me a Christmas hat. Yes I do think that a bright red hat, decorated with little green Christmas trees and topped off with reindeer antlers covered with glitter, wouldbe the perfect accessory to go with the vest. I may also let my brother borrow that and wear it to client meetings.
You said you have enough felt to make me some green and red Christmas pants. I do believe that my brother would love to have the green and red pants to go with the vest. In fact, I will take a picture of my brother in his Christmas outfit, put it on Facebook and share it with the world.
Thanks again for all your homemade gifts. And keep enjoying that glue gin. I mean gun. It makes crafts so much more fun and enjoyable.
