Three of my children are currently in college and I have suggested to them to start publishing on Associated Content from Yahoo or other online sites. The logic behind my suggestion is threefold:
1. They are in an academic environment doing research and writing papers.
2. Modifying their college works for online content would reinforce their learning experience.
3. They might make a few dollars as a writer.
My oldest daughter is a college graduate, is in the workforce and has the skill set to write good articles; I have suggested she try online writing. My youngest son is in high school and he has helped me write several articles on skateboarding which I have sold to other content providers. My son James not only helped me in writing skateboarding articles, he has made several skateboarding videos which he has uploaded onto You Tube.
Frankly, my skateboarding expertise has been developed through observation and research; getting on a skateboard at my age would simply be a form of suicide.
My daughter Erin just started her freshman year and is already attending classes; she has gone away to college while my two other college students attend school locally.
Although Erin is a college freshman she will not be 18 years old until next month and then would be able to publish her articles.
Since I have been writing, I have encouraged (probably badgered) my children to read my articles and share their opinions.
Erin did write her first short Sociology class paper and gave me permission to publish it since she can’t.
Most people are a little apprehensive about trying new endeavors; I know I am. I have two graduate degrees so I can understand if college students might be reluctant at publishing articles.
I encourage your thoughts, feedback and comments. Do you think college students should publish on AC from Yahoo?
