Should Eric Holder resign? It is a moot question, because there is no way Holder would give up his ride. Why is the question as to whether Eric Holder should resign even raised?
Dan Weil and Kathleen Walter have posted an article at the Newsmax Website titled “Gingrich: Holder Should Resign for Handling of Terrorism Cases.” This article describes Newt Gingrich’s fury that terrorist Ahmed Ghailani was acquitted of 285 out of 286 charges in the civil court he was tried in. Holder, along with Obama, set this up, demanding that these terrorists be tried in civilian courts, rather than military tribunals, where the true and total information could be used against people like Ghailani.
Americans should be angry about the situation as well, and they are, indirectly. In the last election, Americans showed how sick they were of Obama’s politics, and, as a result, that reflects on Holder’s antics.
Do you remember Holder’s “class” speech, where he addressed Americans as a “Nation of Cowards when it Comes to Discussions of Race.” This speech was given as part of an administration that supposedly was determined to be the administration “for all the people.”
Obama has courted Muslim nations since he has been in office. It has done no good. In fact, his weak approach has left us open to more serious attacks, such as the recent bomb threat that we were lucky to discover. And who was involved? It was our friends, al-Qaeda.
Obama and Holder have moved these terrorists to nicer quarters and demanded they be tried in civilian courts. What did these terrorists allegedly do? In 1998, al-Qaeda attacked (bombed) an American Embassy in Africa, killing 258 and injuring over 5,000 people. No big deal, right? Apparently it was not to Obama and Holder.
As I said, don’t expect Eric Holder to resign. He is way too self-righteous. However, I would urge you to consider this action, along with his other actions, so you can see what type of person he is.
Hopefully one thing that will come out of this verdict is that there will be a change in the way the remaining terrorists will be tried.
Also, while Gingrich can be a bit over-zealous, he is right about one thing: We should understand that we are in a war.
Oh, and hopefully another action will occur in 2012.
